I’m going to do a series of posts called the New Web Business Guide. I’m going to take you step by step through the process of starting a new online business.

I get a lot of calls from new clients that start with, “I just got this new domain name and . . . ” or “I have a website but not sure where to go from here” or “I want to start an online business but I’m not sure where to get started.”

It really is easy to set up a new web business if you know what to do but most people don’t. That is exactly why so many people fall for things like “Make money online in just 30 days!” or “I made millions using google adsense and so can you!”, or “Discover my secrets to online success!”.

Those types of titles for ebooks, websites, sales letters, ads, and blogs are not there to help you really succeed online. They are there to trap you into believing the hype that they have a secret, a magic formula, or some secret that only the “insiders” know. It’s to get you to buy their “system” with the promise they will make you tons of money.

The only part of those you should believe is the disclaimer where they tell you that you “may” not make as much money as the people that gave us those fake testimonials.

So, stay away from the hype. The chance that you will get “rich” online without a major budget is slim. Not impossible. Slim. The chance you will be making a profit online within 30 days is very slim. Again, not impossible. Very Slim.

It takes time to build a truly successful business online or offline. Be prepared to put in some long hours and some hard work if your budget is small. Be prepared to put in some work even if you have a pretty good marketing budget. you will have to learn some new things yourself and do them.

That’s why I decided to write this series. I want you to know all of the steps involved in setting up a new web business. Some of my friends tell me if I give away too much information it will cost me business. After all if the milk is free, why buy the cow?

I disagree. It takes a team to build a successful online business. Yes, one person alone can do it. They can be successful and make a decent income. But that is not the same as building a business. if they always want to be a successful individual, that’s quite allright. If they want to build a business, they will have to build a team.
