Google Insights is a great tool for tracking trends related to the keywords and phrases you target. Sometimes, a client’s analytics will show that their traffic has dropped off, and of course, they call to find out why.

Before you look for problems with the website or the SEO methods you are using, check to see if the traffic for their search terms is down all over the web. If the number of people searching for their key phrases is up and their traffic is down, you might have a problem. If their traffic is down about the same as it is for the whole web, you likely don’t have a problem.

One of our clients used the service at <a href="http://www.QualityTrafficSupply.com"target="new">QualityTrafficSupply.com and this was his experience.

From Darrel Dolph of LotteryNumberAdvisor.com
We are all looking for value traffic on our websites. If it’s good, we don’t mind paying for it either. So, when someone recommended that I check out QualityTrafficSupply.com, I was curious.

Then, I started reading their pitch. At first, targeted website traffic sounded good. Next, website traffic from contextual ads sounded even better. Even the price looked good. I should have known better and stopped right there. Since I’m writing this review, you’ve probably figured out that I’ve learned yet another lesson the hard way.

I purchased 25,000 visitors to my site, to be delivered over a 30 day period. Their stats show that I was supposed to receive about 833 hits per day, but they only delivered between 30 to 50 per day. One day I got 80. After trying various target audiences, I got the same thing.

Here’s what their marketing hype says:
•	We answer all emails in less than 24 hours, including weekends.
•	Our responsive service helps us retain many return customers.
•	Fast service and support 7 days a week.

So, I emailed them to see if there was something we could do. Two days later, I emailed them again. Two days later, I emailed them again. Get the picture. Plus, their online Chat feature is always offline. These people are ghosts. Their website should have read:

•	We answer all emails in less than 24 months, after we get around to it.
•	Our responsive service guarantees that we will lose our customers.
•	Fast service and support once every 6 months and on Cinco de Mayo, whichever comes first.

But, that’s not all. I just started my website, so traffic is low. I mean very low; like 20 visits per day. I figured that the traffic they promised would help bridge the gap until my SEO efforts kicked in. But, they didn’t deliver anything. Each day their stats were saying they were providing me with more visits than Google Analytics said I received! Somebody’s lying.

These guys don’t provide the traffic they promise. They only provide ghost traffic. The traffic they do provide is only in their mind. This company doesn’t even exist. Nobody is home and nobody is minding the store.

I recommend that you become a ghost customer and never let them see the color of your money.

Darrel Dolph

Most people take web hosting for granted. They look for the cheapest hosting they can get. That’s like starting an offline business that needs foot traffic but buying space in the back of a warehouse instead just because it was cheaper.

When you buy cheap web hosting, you are sticking your website in the back of some warehouse. You don’t know if you are in a good neighborhood or a bad neighborhood. You don’t know if some other website on the same IP Block as you is a spammer, a malicious website, a porn site, or other bad neighborhood site.

When you buy cheap hosting you usually get terrible tech support, slower load times, and other problems you do not have the time for if you are running a business.

SEO Hosting Provider was built to offer clients with business websites a better alternative. High-end Servers and fast connections can make a huge difference. It affects your visitors which affects sales. It affects your search engine rankings as well. Faster load times is important to both users and search engine rankings.

No third world tech support where the person answering the phone cannot fix anything. No support tickets that need to be “upgraded”, “passed on to level 2 or level 3 techs”, or excuses that “the problem must be on your end”.

Each support ticket submitted goes to ALL of the techs at SEO Hosting Provider. The first available tech will work to resolve your problem and email or call you to let you know what they are doing to fix the problem you have. Even IF the problem IS something you did, SEO Service Provider will do its best to help you resolve it.

Blog Hosting includes updated wordpress to the latest version automatically, backing up your database daily, and even installation of your blog comes with your hosting package.

Shared Hosting is on a “clean” box. No one can buy hosting automatically. SEO Hosting Provider will only accept legitimate business clients. No adult websites. If you are a spammer, you will be removed from the server and your money will not be refunded. If you are phishing, downloading malicious programs onto people’s computers, or doing other malicious or illegal practices, you will be removed from the server and your money will not be refunded.

SEO Hosting Provider was created to serve business clients and to make sure their website is in a good neighborhood. Cheaper hosting companies do not offer this screening process. They sell hosting to anyone who will pay and due to the fact they are cheaper, those who spam, sell warez, or that do phishing and other malicious activities flock to those hosting companies.

Dedicated Servers are also available at SEO Hosting Provider. Having your own server with only your domain names hosted there is the safest way to host your website. It is more expensive, but it’s money well spent.

If you are interested in taking your business to the next level and making sure your website is located in a good neighborhood, visit SEO Hosting Provider

Ok, this is a parody of a sales page from HTML Lockdown, a product that encrypts all of the code in your webpage.

Don’t profit from your hard work and expense any longer … get SEOLockdown and close the door on online theft for good!

>>> Click Here To Download The HTML Lock Down

Here’s how SEO Lockdown works:

You simply select a file to be encrypted, enter a password and click on the “LockDown!” Button.

It’s that easy!

All of your carefully optimized code will be instantly hidden from the search engines – including:

HTML code
Titles
JavaScript
Metatag Keywords
VBscript
Metatag Description
Text
Alt Tags
Links
Anchor Text
Graphics
Link Titles
And more!

That’s Right, SEO Lockdown Makes It Impossible for Search Engines to Read & Index Your Source Code and Important Content!

If you’ve done or paid for any significant SEO work, you know how much time, energy and money it takes to create a unique and professionally-optimized web page.

SEO Lockdown ensures your pages do not get indexed by the search engines and suddenly proliferate all over the web – making it unlikely you will ever make any sales!

SEO Lockdown also disables:

Text copying and Text selection via right mouse click so no one can quote you anywhere and create valuable links to your website!

Page printing so you can annoy your visitors to make sure they don’t like your website!

Offline use Further annoying pesky customers who might want to read your content later!

And more!

Now You Can Encrypt & Protect Your HTML Pages With Passwords to make sure the search engines do not index your webpages! – All in a Few Clicks!

No Special Programming Skills or IQ Required!

SEO Lockdown uses strong encryption algorithms to block search engines from crawling your page content and further ensures the safety of that content by requiring you to select a password so users can’t see it either. No more high rankings in the search engines, no more traffic to your website, and no bothersome customers wanting to buy stuff!

Using these methods, the program will prevent any search engine spider from viewing your source code or indexing your webpages.

However, all of your encrypted pages will have the exact same appearance as the original pages and can be viewed in all modern web browsers, making it appear as if you really did want to make sales.

You see, SEO Lockdown modifies the source code of a web page making it unreadable by search engines and non-editable without changing the way a page looks in a browser.

Here is even more of what SEO Lockdown does:

Protects your PayPal links, even though paypal already provides encrypted links for you.

Hides your original HTML source code from search engines.

Creates special password-protected pages even though you can do this on your own.

Stops right-clicking to trap people in your page so they can’t right click and hit “back”

Stops offline browsing so users have to remember where to find your page if they want to read it later. They won’t be able to use the search engines to do that of course, making it even more fun for them.

Stops URLs from being displayed in the browser bar further ensuring that the search engines can never find you or index you too high!

Works with any web host

For Windows 98, ME, 2000, XP, Vista

The Real sales page for HTML Lockdown here.

Before you buy products on the web, you should make sure that it will not make your website invisible or hidden to the search engines.

Choosing The Right Keywords To Help People Find What You Have to Offer

This may very well be the most important thing you do when starting your new online business. Choosing the right keywords and key phrases to target makes a huge difference in the amount of money you will make online. The more people that can find you, the more sales you will make.

The search engines have a job. They want to provide the most relevant results to the people that use their search engine to find what they are looking for. Your job is to make sure that the search engines know that you have what their users are looking for whenever they type a particular search phrase into their search engine.

Don’t try to trick the search engines. Don’t work against them. Work with them to provide the most relevant content to their users. By doing so you will be much more successful than those who try to use tricks and those who optimize their website for keywords that are not really relevant to what they sell.

How Do I Know What Keywords To Target?

I am going to offer a list of tools that will help you do your keyword research, but if you know your business well, make a list of the keywords and key phrases that you “think” people might type in to find what you are selling. Your knowledge of your products and/or services and your knowledge of your customers gives you some insight into which keywords and phrases they might choose.

Keyword Research Tools

The SEO Book Keyword Suggestion Tool is mostly reliant on the wordtracker database but shows you some good results broken down by search engine and day.

Keyword Discovery relies on toolbar users for it’s data much like alexa does.

My favorite is the Google Keywords Tool. It will also give you traffic estimates for the number of people who search for that particular keyword or phrase. It also gives you an idea of how many advertisers target those keywords and phrases.

Yahoo Search Marketing Keyword Tool To use it you have to sign up for yahoo search marketing. Even if you do not put up a deposit you will be able to access the yahoo search keywords tool.

Wordtracker, the free version.

Don’t be afraid to target the top keywords and phrases people type into the search engines. Just because other people also target them, it does not mean that you will not be able to compete with them.

But also do not ignore key phrases that are less popular or that have less traffic on them either. You should choose at least 10 highly Competitive keywords or phrases, 10 that have a medium amount of competition, and 10 that have very little competition for them.

That will get you started. Eventually you willl likely be targeting as many as 500 keywords and phrases, but 30 is a very good start.

How Do These Keywords and Phrases Apply To Choosing My Domain Name?

In the chapter on choosing a domain name, we talked about why your domain name should target the top key phrase you want to target.

After you have done your keyword research, you need to determine the top key phrase that you plan to be ranked well for in the search engines. That will give you the phrase you want to register as a domain name.

I Have My Keyword Research Done. Now What?

As I just said, now you can go and get your domain name registered first. Then you will need to set up a hosting account for your domain name. You are almost ready to start building your website and starting your new web business.

That keyword list you just made will be used to determine how your website will be optimized for the search engines. The keywords you use in your website’s content will help people find you when they use search engines. In later chapters we discuss how to use those keywords as you build your website, writing your content using those keywords and more.

Great keyword research is the key to your online success, so take the time to get it right. Do your homework or hire someone to do it for you.

The next chapter will be about how to choose the right web hosting company for your website.

This is a really cool tool from Google. You can check the buying trends for any specific product. Your sales volume on a product dropping? Check to see if the overall sales of your product to see if it’s all down or just you. It only tracks users who pay through google checkout though, so it is only an indicator.

The downside of course is that as with all google tools, this one is still in beta and right now as I tried it, I got no results even for things like books.

I read a really good article about web positioning software and it goes along with what we have been doing all along. We never use automated software to check keyword positioning in the search engines, to do search engine submissions, to analyze web copy, to generate content, to manage a ppc campaign, etc.

I’ve seen people even using automated software to generate articles to use in article marketing that supposedly rewrites content using synonyms and such to generate “original” content. Even manually editing a PLR article does not make it original content. Doing this with software certainly does not generate quality content.

There is nothing that replaces an SEO or SEM professional when it comes to these tasks. Knowledge is aquired through experience. There are many things that make someone an SEO or SEM Professional that cannot be emulated by software.

Web-Positioning Software: Good or Bad?
By Shari Thurow, The ClickZ Network

Search Engine Positioning Vs. Web Analytics Software

Sure, Web analytics software has evolved since 1997. It now includes more detailed keyword analysis and search engine advertising data. This makes our analyses more thorough. In that sense, I agree with Fredrick and laud Web analytics companies for responding to the search industry.

However, top-10 search engine positions alone don’t communicate user behavior. Site owners should focus more on those who will spend money on their products and services: their target audiences.

Instead of overzealously maintaining a top-10 position (unfortunately, still a search engine optimization (SEO) obsession), online marketers should spend more time and money on visitor behavior.

An SEO Professional has to know or be able to learn about your target audience. This does not mean the ability to check to see if you have a top 10 google listing. This means understanding how the target audience behaves on your website.

A top 10 listing in google does not necessarily mean you will make any sales through your website. What good is traffic that does not convert to sales?

An SEO or SEM Professional knows how to “guide” a user where they want them to go within a website and knows how to analyze their behavior to improve on those results.

An SEO or SEM Professional knows how to sell. That is the most important part of marketing. You may learn all of the technical aspects of SEO. You may understand keyword research and optimized content. You may understand how to get top 10 listings in some of the major search engines.

But all of that means nothing without having someone on board who knows how to sell and how to analyze user behavior to improve your results and conversions.

If you like playing with cool SEO tools and like to keep up with how you are doing in the search engines for your keywords, then you should try SEODigger

If it tells you that your domain name is not in the database, it may be an error. I did searches on my own whenever it came up with that and found that the domain was in the database after all. So while no seo tool is perfect, this one is very good.

You have to sign up to be able to research up to 10 domain names in one hour, but it’s free and easy to signup.

I thought I’d share some cool keyword tools for you to help you do your keyword rersearch for 2008.

The SEO Book Keyword Suggestion Tool is mostly reliant on the wordtracker database but shows you some good results broken down by search engine and day.

Keyword Discovery relies on toolbar users for it’s data much like alexa does.

My favorite is the Google Keywords Tool

Yahoo Search Marketing Keyword Tool To use it you have to sign up for yahoo search marketing. Even if you do not put up a deposit you will be able to access the yahoo search keywords tool.

Wordtracker, the free version.

This is by no means all of the tools that are available, but it will get you off to a good start. If you have more, let us know.
