Formatting Your Blog Posts and Using Word to Edit Them

This problem comes up a lot so I thought I would make a quick blog post about it. I hire a lot of bloggers and each has their own methods of writing blog posts.

Some of them use Microsoft Word to write the post, then copy it into a wordpress blog. This can cause you some problems you may not be aware of.

On some computers, when you copy your text from word into the wordpress blog, you also copy some of the invisible formatting code that word uses.

When you paste it into your wordpress blog, it can cause the blog post to look strange compared to your other blog posts and can even mess up the whole template you are using.

If you like writing your posts in word first, then the solution is pretty simple. Copy it from word into notepad, then into your wordpress blog. Notepad gets rid of all of the bad code and just leaves the text.

I’m not really sure why they interviewed someone from Network Solutions about SEO, because they are definitely not a top choice for your search engine optimization services. However, at least they do have one person there that knows enough about SEO to give decent advice.

Content is king and people really do need to know that if they don’t already. Having a company blog helps you add content. Writing articles that inform readers will add a lot of content to your website.

SEO is motion and activity as well as content. Just adding a bunch of content all at once is not as good as adding content to your website daily so it grows at a steady pace.

A website suddenly appearing with 100,000 pages is not going to rank as well as a website that grows at a steady pace and reaches that many pages.
