Selling Products And Services On The Web
More and more people are buying online each year, so the Internet is a great place to sell products and services and there are a lot of different ways to do this.
1. EBay will allow you to set up your own store if you have products to sell.
2. Yahoo Stores is another place that will host an online store for you.
3. You can find a lot of websites that sell wholesale and will drop ship products for you. This means you build a website or use an ebay or yahoo store to sell their products at a profit and they handle all of the processing. They take the payments, they ship the product to the customer, etc. This leaves you free to promote your online store or website and make sales while they do everything else.
If you plan to sell products on the web I recommend you consider using someone that does dropshipping. Having an inventory and having to ship product is time consuming and difficult.
4. Using systems that are already in place can be a great way to go. Example. You want to sell bicycle parts or auto parts but you do not actually have these parts. You can join a system that already has all of the parts and the databse that helps people find what they are looking for and helps them order. You simply make money everytime someone comes through your website, into the system, then orders something.
5. If you have product already, then you will want to sell your own products. Keep in mind you can still add products from other wholesalers who do dropshipping if you think people who buy your product might also buy their product. Either way you make money.
If you plan to sell your own products through your website, you will need to figure out how you will ship it to your customers. You will also need to know which countries or regions you will be able to or want to ship to.

You will also have to think about how many products you will offer, taking photos of those products, writing descriptions for them, and a lot of other things before you are ready to build your website.
5. Selling services on the web. I could never cover all of the different types of services you can sell on the web. Everyone, from the guy that wants people in his local area to know that he is a great plumber, to the person who wants to offer writing services, consulting services, and even tarot card readings, can sell their services on the web.
There will be a lot of chapters in the web bsuiness guide that you will need to read before you start any of these new web businesses. Having a good plan in place before you actually start will help you succeed. Too many people go out and build a website then try to figure out the best way to make sales.
