This is a parody of course, but it does bring up a good point about the way Google weighs link popularity and page rank and what they consider a bad neighborhood, etc.

You can’t control who links to your website, therefore it’s assumed that bad links to your website should not count against you. The question comes in when we discuss whether Google penalizes you for bad neighborhood websites linking to your website.

If they do count those links against you, then people could of course set up 100 porn websites and put links to their competitors websites on all of them. This cartoon expands on where that could lead.
