Just Good SEO - No Hype
Hey Spiderman! Here’s Two Things You MUST Do Well To Succeed At SEO
Filed under: SEO Myths and Facts

Spiderman is my favorite superhero. Not because he plays with his Web (oops, did I type that out loud?), and not because he fights crime or drives a cool car (wait, that’s Batman). No, Spiderman is my favorite superhero because he’s got the hottest girlfriend (yes, even hotter than Lois Lane) - oh, come on! It’s Kirsten Dunst, for crying out loud!

OK, so Kirsten Dunst has nothing at all to do with what I’m about to tell. Nor does Spiderman, except this:

The two things you absolutely have to do in order to succeed at SEO are these … (drumroll)

  1. Eat hotlinks
  2. And talk to the spiders

How To Eat SEO Hotlinks

Strange list, I know, but bear with me. SEO is all about two things (I’ve said this a million times so if it sounds familiar don’t tune me out). Those two things are links and keywords. So when I say “eat hotlinks,” I’m not talking about gorging yourself with sauerkraut and German sausage. I’m talking about link building. Off-page SEO. You have to connect yourself to the Web - to the people you meet in your social networks, through social bookmarking sites, blogs, forums, and everywhere else. This is the social side of SEO. Eat your hotlinks!

Good SEO Is Like Talking To Spiders

The second thing might sound a little freakish, but it’s not. This is no Little Miss Muffet tale. I’m talking about real SEO.

As you know, the little robots that crawl the Web seeking information to catalog are called spiders. So when you talk to the spiders you are feeding them what they need to rank your websites well. The primary food of spiders is keywords. They LUUUUuuuu-uuuuuu-UUUUvvvv keywords. And if you want them to love you then you have to use keywords frequently and correctly - otherwise, you don’t get the girl.
