If you can’t write good quality content and you are not sure how to properly place keywords then maybe it is time to hire a ghost writer for your site.
I like the sound of that. The fact is, it is becoming more and more difficult to write compelling website content. The reason is because Internet marketing is getting more and more competitive every day. It is getting to where there are not many niches left any more. People are going online to do business and coming up with the same old ideas as the other guy. There will soon come a day when Internet marketing is as ubiquitous as traditional marketing.
The purists, however, are fighting to make sure that doesn’t happen. There are two primary types of SEO experts in the field today: There are SEOs who are great as SEO, but they are not writers. They writing is second nature to them. The second type of SEO is the dynamite writer who is good enough at SEO to get your pages ranked well. They understand SEO well enough to feed the search engines and make them happy, but at heart they are still a content writer, what we used to call a copywriter. Which type of SEO is best for you?
As a veteran writer, someone who spent years in the real world writing before migrating online, I am biased toward the latter. Good content writers write good content. Expert SEOs may not. Truth be told, you need well-written content that is SEOd properly. In the old days, you could write your own content and rank well in the search engines because you only had a handful of sites competing with you and all you had to do was make sure you put your keywords in your content and write good meta tags. It’s more complicated than that today. You not only have to appeal to Google and Yahoo!, but you also have to appeal to people who have money in their pockets.
The most important part of your website content is not the SEO, it’s the content. Does it sell? Does it move me? Does it convey a need and sell the benefit of doing business with you? If not, then you need a new content writer. You need someone who understands SEO and who also understands how to “get the click.” If you’re not getting the click then it may be time for you to hire a ghostwriter.
